The Academic Mindtrek conference is organized as part of the Mindtrek Openmind conference. The academic conference specific program will be published on this website. However, all Academic Mindtrek Conference attendees can also attend all the Mindtrek Openmind specific events free of charge. It is strongly suggested to take a look at the Mindtrek Openmind website mindtrek.org to see the exciting program as well.
 

The Mindtrek Association hosts Mindtrek Openmind as a yearly conference. The purpose of  ‘Academic Mindtrek conference’ is to provide a platform for academicians, researchers and professionals from the industry to put forward ideas and interpretations regarding the development of Internet, interactive media, and the information society. Furthermore, special academic sessions (e.g. tutorials, demonstrations, workshops, and multidisciplinary sessions) will be held parallel to the Mindtrek Openmind business conference.

 

The highest ranked papers will be published in academic journals (e.g. in 2013 we published a selected set of articles in ACM Computers in Entertainment, Electronic Markets – The International Journal on Networked Business, and the International Journal of Ambient Computing and Intelligence. The scientific part of the conference is organized in cooperation with the Association for Information Systems (AIS) SIG-eMedia, and the International Ambient Media Association Ry (iAMEA).
